Material by Amouage, introduced in 2021 under the creative guidance of Cécile Zarokian, explores the theme of materiality through an olfactory journey that combines oriental and resin elements with sweet, spicy and woody touches. This unisex fragrance captures the essence of precious resins and woods, transporting the wearer to a dimension where the tangible blends with the intangible.

Material begins with the distinctive aroma of elemi oil and patchouli oil, introducing a first layer of complexity. In the heart, the absolute vanilla of Madagascar and the benzoin resinoid dominate, creating a sweet and enveloping core. The base stabilizes on rich and deep tones of resinoid of incense, sheath wood oil, labdanum resinoid, enriched by the sweetness of tonka bean absolute and a delicate floral nuance given by the absolute osmanthus. A hint of oud oil adds a woody finish.
